Private Eyes are watching you….

What is Australian Big Data? Big Data is real and we are sharing more than ever but where does it all go, who has access to it and how can you control your footprint.
Our obsession with technology is unsurpassed, with a staggering 4 out of 5 Australians owning a smart phone. Add to that our growing collection of smart gadgets, and we are the most online interconnected generation that has ever walked the planet.

And while this technology may be making our lives easier, this convenience, comes at a cost, with the very devices we now rely on, supplying a treasure-trove of personal data to everyone from Government Agency’s to thousands of advertiser’s worldwide.

And with Australia’s data retention laws offering the government a blurry line between keeping us safe and invasion of privacy. I thought it best to ask industry expert Paul Scott Murphy of WanDisco just what Big Data is and how it impacts us all, and find out once and for all if we can actually live off the grid .
