Can unemployment lead to eternal happiness?

Australia’s happiest cities all have one thing in common:

A high unemployment rate.

The happiest cities in Australia are also considered to be the worst places to find work in Australia, due to the large number of candidates vying for every position.

For example: Townsville, the happiest city, also has rampant unemployment, and an average of 16 individuals applying for every position, making job hunting practically impossible at times.

The main thing we’ve taken away from our data compilation?

The less we work, the happier we are. Well, maybe.
